Kept is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your photos never leave your device. We don't collect your name, email, or contact info.
Photos: Kept requests access to your photo library to display random memories. Photos are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with anyone. All photo processing happens entirely on your device. We do not store, copy, or backup your photos.
On-Device Analysis: Kept uses Apple's Vision framework to analyze your photos locally on your device. This analysis helps surface relevant memories and personalize which sponsors you see. No analysis results, photo content, or derived data ever leaves your device.
Local Storage: Kept stores only the IDs of selected daily photos on your device (not the photos themselves). This cache resets daily.
Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to understand basic app usage (how often the app is opened, general device type). This data is not linked to your name, email, or photos, and is used only to improve the app.
Remote Config: We use Firebase Remote Config to update in-app text and sponsor information. No photos are sent.
If you sign up for our Android waitlist on this website, we collect your email address solely to notify you when an Android version becomes available. We will not sell, share, or use your email for any other purpose, except in the event of an acquisition or merger where your email may be transferred to the new owner. You can request removal at any time by emailing hi@keptphoto.com.
Kept does not require user accounts. No login, no registration, no password, no email. This means there is no account to hack and no personal data to breach.
Kept is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

You can delete all locally stored data by uninstalling the app. Since we don't collect personal information or maintain accounts, there is no data on our servers to request or delete. EU users: our legal basis for analytics is legitimate interest. California users: we do not sell personal information.
